País Estrellado is a wordplay formed by the Spanish adjective estrellado, which is a polyseme with several connotations. The academic and positive one is “star-shaped” while the colloquial and negative is of “shattered.” As Venezuelans, many of us face this dichotomy on a daily basis when we think about our future and the shattered fate of our country.
