Llamada Final
In Llamada Final (2023), an artwork for which I received an Honorable Mention at the Salón Jóvenes Artistas con FIA, I explore the connection between life and death, the transient and the perpetual.
The artwork consists of a bed, ceramic pieces, and a set of letters, representing the moment just before death, when we see our entire life flash before our eyes. It is the instant when we can truly distance ourselves from our own time and gain an overarching perspective of our existence.
The bed, the central element of the artwork, symbolizes our final rest. The ceramic pieces embody the most meaningful moments of our lives—those that define us and shape our complex existence. Finally, the set of letters represents the paradox between the finite and infinite nature of language and human existence, illustrating how a finite number of elements can generate infinite possibilities. This reflects the contradiction between human finitude and the ontological idea of infinity, represented by the eternal being that transcends.
